EXHIBITIONS
As the Los Angeles Liaison for the traveling exhibition ‘Now What?! Advocacy Activism and Alliances in American Architecture since 1968’, Nina Briggs supervised the exhibition at Woodbury University’s WUHO Gallery and organized events, meetings, panel discussions and lectures, building alliances amongst built environment professionals and organizations (AWA+D, LA Forum, LALA, FSA, SoCalNOMA, MFLA, Architecture Lobby and CPPLA). In the context of “the first exhibition to examine the little-known history of architects and designers working to further the causes of the civil rights, women’s, and LGBTQ movements of the past fifty years”, Nina participated in AWA+D’s ‘In Great Company: AWA+D’s Legacy of Empowerment Panel’ and continue to advocate for design professionals as agents of change.
As guest curator in collaboration with Ingalill Wahlroos-Ritter, Nina is working on the second annual Small Scale Architecture Store and Exhibition celebrating and selling the work of forty designers who push the boundaries of function and assembly, material and product, to produce indispensable objects to wear, utilize, adorn, carry, occupy, enlighten, and beautify, exploring the boundaries of architecture and object.
As assistant curator of the Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design Summer Exhibition and co-editor of the Summer Newsletter, Nina’s creative activities expand to community-based projects.
